Biography

Linda Ng joined the School of Nursing and Midwifery at The University of Southern Queensland in 2019. She has clinical experience and qualifications in Adult Intensive Care and Neonatal Intensive Care. Linda has eight years¿ experience teaching in nursing undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Queensland University of Technology and The University of Queensland. In the last three years, she has developed simulation workshops to enhance the transfer of student self-confidence and competence to the clinical nursing environment in the Graduate Entry Masters program at The University of Queensland. Linda was successful in two Teaching & Learning Grants 2016 and 2017 from The University of Queensland. In her teaching role, Linda create an environment that is conducive to learning¿ a place where students can immerse themselves in a subject of discipline as they assimilate a body of requisite information, concepts and skills. Linda believes learning is an active process, requiring motivation, effort and persistence. Linda is a Fellow with the Higher Education Academy, UK. Linda¿s research focuses on postgraduate education of Registered Nurses and its impact on nursing care. Linda is one of the founders of Neonatal Skin Forum (NSF) - a group of enthusiastic neonatal nurses, from across Queensland, with a broad range of backgrounds and experience. The purpose of the Neonatal Skin Forum is to bring together clinical nurse leaders from around Queensland, to work together in providing professional insight into latest research, practice patterns, consumer & parental attitudes, trends and current beliefs. Acting on the findings from her PhD, she was significantly involved in negotiating with University of Tasmania to offer ACNN members full scholarship on HECS fees to pursue postgraduate study in neonatal nursing on behalf of The Australia College of Neonatal Nurses (ACNN) - a national, not for profit organisation and peak professional body for neonatal nurses in Australia.
