I am the Team Leader for the Tertiary Preparation Pathway (TPP), the principal non-ATAR entry pathway into undergraduate degrees at UniSQ and I lecture in Academic Communications within the TPP. I have many years of teaching experience, including the Bachelor of Environments at The University of Melbourne, the Diploma of Liberal Arts at Victoria University and Kangan Institute, the Victorian Certificate of Education (year 11 and 12 English - for which I also wrote many text guides) and Indigenous programs at Kangan Institute and Deakin University. I am an Environmental Humanities scholar with an interest in the implications and affordances of semiotic material approaches to a range of concerns, including relationality, criteria, and temporal, spatial and conceptual scale, both theoretically and in practical applications. My monograph; Exploring Interstitiality with Mangroves: Semiotic Materialism and the Environmental Humanities was published in the Routledge Environmental Humanities Series in December 2022. It discusses what it is to be between, and filters philosophical concepts through mangrove ecological processes to ask how we can rethink concepts such as "difference" and "relationality" in ways that fold the cultural and ecological together. I am also currently researching assessment practices. Previously research has been in Open Educational Practice, experiential learning, and theories of sustainability.
