Jessie is a Lecturer in Nursing in the School of Nursing and Midwifery. She holds a Masters in Science (Nurse Practitioner), Immunisation qualification and a Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management in addition to her nursing qualifications. Jessie began her nursing career in 2004 and has worked at hospitals within Ipswich up to the level of Nurse Educator and After Hours Nurse Unit Manager. Since 2013 Jessie has been involved in the education of Nurses as the Nurse Educator of the Emergency Department and has become involved in tertiary education in 2019. Jessie is enrolling in the Masters of Research (advanced) with the intention of articulating into her PhD. Jessie's research interests include Emergency Nursing, knowledge transition and implementation with focus on employability for our graduate Registered Nurse and the use and implementation of the digital hospital within our current practice. She is currently still working clinically where she can to maintain her clinical practice, specialising in areas including Emergency Nursing, After Hours Nurse Managing, Hospital at Night Clinical Nurse Consultant and Intensive Care Nursing. Jessie is keen to take the student on the nursing journey with her. She enjoys sharing her enthusiasm and passion for nursing and is honoured to have a part in educating our future Registered Nurses.
