I have been working in the Australian Tertiary Sector since 1989. I have managed a number of portfolios including Program Director, Research Centre Director, Research Coordinator, Associate Dean (Research), Acting Head of School, Discipline Coordinator and Faculty Equity Coordinator roles among many roles. In terms of teaching, I have taught a variety of subjects in Mathematics, Engineering, Computing, Information Systems, Management and Research Methodologies. Currently I am teaching Information Systems and Cyber Security Courses at USQ. I research in Health Informatics with specific attention paid to developing Intelligent and Decision Support Systems. I have published over 300 refereed papers. In addition to the research papers, I have won Australian National Competitive Grants (ARC Linkage) and other research grants. I am very strong in PhD supervision. I have so far seen the completion of 55 research students. Currently a team of students are studying for PhD with me in the area of Cancer Prediction, Cyber Security Framework Compliance Framework, Money Laundering recognition, Autism and other mental illness prediction systems, assessing the efficacy of a mental health system, Denial of Data Services, Developing a prediction model for aggressive behaviours and Hospital Avoidance Prediction models. These research studies use cutting edge AI techniques such as Federated Systems. I am the recipient of USQ's Research Excellence Award, USQ's Value Champion Award, Queensland Premier's IT Research Excellence Award, Endeavour Executive Award among many other awards. I am an Adjunct Professor of SRM Institute of Science & Technology in India. Currently I am serving as the Treasure of ACPHIS, the peak body representing Australian Information Systems Professors.

Research most notable
1. Mental Health and Machine Learning: Currently I am involved in a number of projects where Machine Learning and other AI techniques are used to predict mental health status. These projects are industry projects and my team and I are working with various professional groups in developing cutting edge machine learning algorithms for mental health prediction.
2. Cyber Security: I am also working in the Cyber domain to develop various prediction models using innovative algorithms to identify Cyber Frauds, Customer Profiling and Behaviour prediction.
