Dr Saya Ramakrishnan is a Senior Lecturer and ARC DECRA fellow in the School of Engineering at the University of Southern Queensland. Prior to joining UniSQ, he worked as an ARC DECRA Fellow and post-doctoral research fellow at the Swinburne University from 2018 to 2023. He earned his BSc honours degree in Civil engineering with first class from the University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka and PhD degree from Swinburne University. Saya’s research is mainly focused on concrete 3D printing, sustainable and low-carbon concrete technologies, fire-resistant building materials and building energy efficiency. His DECRA project aims at developing active rheology control methods in concrete suited for concrete 3D printing applications. his research findings were published in high-impact journals, and he also serves as editor and reviewer for the journals in his field. Saya is also passionate about implementing research developments for industrial practice and has therefore established many research partnerships with the industrial sector during his career.
