Dr Kelly McWilliam is an Associate Professor in Communication and Media Studies and the Immediate Past President of the Cultural Studies Association of Australasia. Known for her research on contemporary screen media--particularly digital storytelling and co-creative media, and Australian and queer film--and its impacts, Kelly is the author or editor of four books and 30+ refereed publications. Her most recent books are Ana Kokkinos: An Oeuvre of Outsiders (Edinburgh University Press, 2019) and Australian Genre Film (with Mark David Ryan, Routledge, 2021). Kelly has also completed work on two ARC Linkage Projects worth more than $400,000; is a past member of the ARC Cultural Network; past winner of the USQ Research Excellence Award for Early Career Researchers; and a current ARC Assessor. She is currently the Strategic Alignment Director and an Academic Director/Team Leader for the School of Humanities and Communication and the Program Director of the Bachelor of General Studies.
