I have an abundance of life experience and after the death of my first husband and the completion of my children's education I decided to realise my life long dream of becoming a nurse.
I completed the Tertiary Preparation Programme and finished my degree at the University of Southern Queensland.
During my degree I worked as a support worker for people with physical and mental disabilities. The communication skills I learned on the job were invaluable.

During this time I completed several audits re Handwashing of staff and patients in dialysis units and commenced my Masters Project a Vancomycin -Resistant Enterococcus learning package for Nurses.
I completed my Masters of Clinical Nursing (Nephrology) in 2012 and presented the results of the VRE learning package at the Renal Society Of Australasia conference.
