Ellen Larsen has been a Lecturer in Curriculum and Pedagogy at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) since 2016. She commenced working in Initial Teacher Education after a long career working in schools and in leadership positions at the sector level in Queensland, Australia since 1988. With a strong research interest in professional learning, beginning teachers and teacher identity, Ellen completed her Master of Education at the University of Tasmania in 2013 on the work of novice literacy coaches. Following this, she completed her doctoral research in 2019 with Griffith University, investigating beginning teachers and the development of their professional learner identities. Ellen has published from both her Masters and Doctoral research, in publications such as her book chapter, ¿Developing professional learner identities: a critical piece in the `classroom readiness¿ puzzle (Springer) in 2017. Ellen¿s research interests also include teacher educator practice and professionalism.
