Darren is currently a PhD candidate within the School of Education. The focus of his study is on how Adaptive Space is perceived within language education contexts within Australia. Darren worked in Turkey as a team leader in a cross-cultural exchange program for many years where there was an emphasis on language learning. Darren holds a Master of Education from USQ and a degree in Agriculture from UQ. Darren has worked across a broad range of areas at USQ since 2003. His primary area of focus has been in the English as a Second Language education programs, Pathway programs, Applied Linguistics Masters program and more recently within CISER, providing a coordinating role in the Indigenous Higher Education Pathway Program. He has also supervised students within the Master of Education research courses and has facilitated some of these courses.
