I have been a Registered Nurse for 25 years and in this time have specialised in thoracic oncology, chemotherapy, and IV services. My career pathway has led me down the path of management, quality assurance, risk management, education, and research. My Masters via research developed a risk screening tool for acute confusion/ delerium. My PhD led to the development of the "Spillway model" a simple yet effective set of principles to improve evidence utilisation in nursing. Moloney, C 2013 Behavioural intention and user acceptance of research evidence for Queensland nurses. Nurse Education in Practice. Online http://authors.elsevier.com/sd/article/S1471595313000759. My main research interest is now with hospital avoidance with a particular emphasis on COPD and other respiratory presentations. http://dx.doi.org/10.1136/bmjopen-2019-030358
