Research interests
My research is centered around two program of research. The first is about learning from those with lived experience of suicide. Our current focus is on how peers support each other via online forums. Adopting the position that support is interactional in nature, this research aims to explicate how support is gained and provided to those experiencing a suicidal crisis.

The second program focuses on suicide in sport. This is a new program that is currently examining whether sport is a protective factor against suicide for Australian athletes. Its aim is to identify if there are aspects of the sport context that may protect athletes from developing suicidal thoughts and/or acting on these.
